The SR Drive^® system combines inherently low rotor inertia with high peak torque capability and wide control bandwidth.  Together, these permit outstanding dynamic performance, well-suited to demanding applications such as machine tools, actuators, tensioning/rewind systems, extruders and servos.  Contrary to perceived wisdom, torque ripple is seldom a practical issue in such applications, but where static torque is important (e.g. in high-precision position servos), proprietary techniques can be applied to further smooth the motor’s inherent torque characteristic.  Compared with conventional motors, faster response and high accuracy are delivered from a smaller package, and at lower costs.
